OUR STORY

Mackey realty is the product of an overheard conversation,

at an unexpected open house.

It was a little over four years ago, when two home buyers, not clients of Heather Mackey’s at the time, stumbled upon one of her open houses. They overheard a conversation, with Mackey describing, in length, schools, neighborhoods, city traffic and so on, and it wasn’t a day later they made Mackey their preferred agent of choice. After a few months of showings, and no sign of a forever home, Mackey dove into her local network and uncovered a home, off market, that ended up being the “one”. Fast forward four years later to a casual dinner, with the same former clients, and a conversation that would soon inspire a business partnership.

Combining Mackey's fifteen years of real estate experience and marketing background, with advanced technology and lending expertise, MR opened its doors to the Queen City in 2021. Established as a boutique, full-service, brokerage firm with the purpose to better serve our clientele with a more personalized approach, we believe in a transparent method to real estate that supports our client's needs from beginning to end. Whether you are relocating, buying, selling or staging, our agents endeavor to work for your best interest every step of the way, and true to our southern roots, we believe in the practice that you’re not just a client, but you’re our family.

About Heather Mackey

Born and raised in Florence, SC, Mackey graduated from Clemson University, earning a BS in Marketing. Upon graduating, she began her career as a representative in pharmaceutical sales with one of the world’s largest biotech companies. After three years in sales and three children later, she decided to put her marketing background, passion for people, and knack for home design to use. She became a licensed real estate agent in 2008, servicing both North and South Carolina. Her personal approach and understanding of real estate was founded under the tutelage of Marilyn Hartley with Marilyn Hartley Realty, where she soon became one of the firm’s top producers. In 2011 she joined the Dickens Mitchener team and continued to be ranked as one of the firm’s top producers.

Throughout her years in real estate, transparency and trust has become paramount for her when forming relationships with clients. Her sharp attention to contract details, and quick, but thorough, analysis of a fluctuating housing market is imperative to her when it comes to client’s needs and success. Since relocating to Charlotte in 2001, Mackey has called the Eastover, Myers Park and Dilworth neighborhoods her home. She is the proud mom to her three daughters Cameron, Liza, and Caroline, and continues to be actively involved in the Charlotte community.
